Mira has hit a few milestones at seven weeks, one big one being smiling. She has really mastered it and is especially happy in the mornings. It just melts your heart every time she gives you a big grin. We enjoy making goofy faces at her and seeing if she can imitate us. Not sure if she gets it yet. She does enjoy sticking her tongue out at us.
At six weeks, I attempted to give her a bath with me. It went over better than expected. They are so buoyant since their bellies are so full. She gets very relaxed and puts her head back in the water willingly. Now we look forward to bath time.
Her neck is also getting much stronger. She holds it up for several seconds and stares at us longingly. Not sure what's going on in there but it's mighty intense, even enough to go cross-eyed at times.
This last week I think she hit a growth spurt because she was hungry non-stop. I didn't think I could keep up with breast-feeding. Luckily I had some on reserve. We are up to five ounces now! All the milk has helped her sleep longer at night. Yay! We've made it up to four hours now in between feedings. Mommy is finally getting some much needed sleep.
Friday, Monte and I took her to the botanical gardens to see the Spring blooms. It was a nice day to get out of the house. Monte and I enjoyed ourselves and had sympathy for a kid there that had to plant 33,000 pansies. Boy would that suck! Mira slept through the entire visit.
She does enjoy being outside though. She took a nap in her bouncy seat on the porch Saturday while I planted flowers. We are so happy that Spring is finally here. Not ready for 80 degree weather yet.
This last week also marked our first trip to the library. We are learning our Mother Goose Nursery rhymes. She seems to enjoy them but usually falls asleep when I read to her.
That's it for this week. Not long and she will be two months old! We are enjoying every minute!
